We welcome new members

We welcome new members

That does not just mean that we want new members, but that we do, indeed, welcome them.

We have a proud tradition of being a friendly, open group of people and we are determinedly non-cliquey. If you join us wanting to act, then do not worry that you will have to take your place in a lengthy queue for a leading part, you may well find yourself in such a role faster than you thought! We aim to make the most of the talents of all our members; we have no acting hierarchy - everybody gets a chance to show what they can do and to progress. There are no dead men's shoes in TTB! If your interests are in one of the back-stage disciplines: lighting, sound, set construction, costume, etc. - then you will be particularly welcome, as these are roles that are always difficult to fill.

How do I Join?

You can always come along to one of our regular Monday meetings, where you will receive a warm welcome. We will be happy to tell you what we are about, what our plans are and show you how you could fit in. We welcome potential members to come and view our activities on two Monday evening sessions for free, and only ask that they become members and pay their subscription on their third visit.

The group meets each Monday from 7.30 p.m. to 10.00 p.m. at:

Wavendon Gate Pavilion, Isaacson Drive, Wavendon Gate MK7 7RZ

During a production we will usually rehearse twice a week, Mondays and Thursdays (Thursday rehearsals will be at other venues, not Wavendon Gate). If you would like more information about the group, please drop us a line using the form on our Contact page. We usually have a summer break in rehearsal activities during July and August, although social activities continue.

What does it Cost?

There are two grades of Membership: Full and Associate.

Full Membership is open to anybody aged 18 or over who is interested in some aspect of Amateur Theatre. Full members can:

  • Participate in all Tread the Boards activities (shows, theatre visits, etc.)
  • Be eligible for casting in all productions
  • Vote at the AGM
  • Stand for election to the Committee

The annual subscription for Full Membership is £42 (July to June). Members joining after September pay a reduced fee. This is equivalent to £3.50 for each month remaining in the membership year (for example, join in January and you pay £21 for the 6 month period January to June).

We welcome potential members to come and view our activities on two Monday evening sessions for free, and only ask that they become members and pay their subscription on their third visit.

Associate Membership is open to anybody of any age who is interested in some aspect of Amateur Theatre. Associate Membership is primarily intended for individuals who want to participate on an occasional basis, but do not want to be cast in a production. As we are a Charity we cannot offer full membership to anyone aged under 18, however younger people who want to take part in our shows can do so by taking out Associate membership.

Associate Members can participate in all Tread the Boards activities (shows, theatre visits, etc.), but, unless aged under 18, cannot be cast in a production. Associate Members cannot vote at the AGM and are not eligible for election to the Committee. The annual subscription for Associate Membership is £12 (July to June). Members joining after September pay a reduced fee. This is equivalent to £1 for each month remaining in the membership year (for example, join in January and you pay £6 for the 6 month period January to June).
